Today, we are excited to announce the launch of The Center of Excellence for Emerging Growth CFO’s. The Center of Excellence for Emerging Growth CFOs represents Attivo’s commitment to equipping and developing CFOs with best practices for financial leadership in venture-backed, emerging growth companies.
Through this on-going program, we will offer the skills, training, and insights CFOs need to find success in the emerging growth landscape. By connecting the insights of industry experts and decades of experience through a peer learning environment, we believe we can help CFOs become an essential part of their organization.
For our inaugural workshop we will focus on communication strategies CFOs can use to position themselves as a strategic partner within their company. We’ll be learning from Dr. Jeanine Turner, Professor at Georgetown in the Communication, Culture, and Technology Program and at The McDonough School of Business. Throughout the seminar, we will be working interactively to develop critical communication strategies to influence decision making.
Effective Emerging Growth CFOs Guide Their Companies Into The Future
Given the rapid pace of change within emerging growth companies, strong financial leadership is needed to guide founders and management through various stages of a company’s development. Through business model development, metrics reporting, and capital management strategies, a CFO guides financial decision making and structures that fund business growth. In this role, CFOs need to master the skill of communicating technical details and strategic realities through stories that make sense to all members of their management team. By understanding your communication style and working on the techniques presented in this workshop, you will improve your ability to effectively communicate in your company’s decision making process.

Working interactively we will develop critical communication strategies for improving the way you interact with your team and board. Using frameworks and communication delivery techniques we will explore:
- Managing Meetings in a Digitally Distracted Environment
- Communicating the Company’s Value — Improving Your Persuasion
- Telling a Compelling Story — Communicating the Future of the Company
- Understanding Conflict and Opportunities for Dialogue
Intended audience:
Start-up finance professionals with at least ten years of financial management experience. Examples of appropriate functions and titles: chief financial officer, vice president of finance, and other senior-level financial positions.
